Case Study: Lowmac Alloys

The company needed a two-phase upgrade of their existing facility to handle an increasing and diverse workload, which included metal recovery, fines extraction, wood, hardcore, hard plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous materials among others.

This demanded a careful, strategic approach that made best use of the available space and maximised the company’s stockpile capacity. EMS developed and installed a comprehensive that met all of Lowmac’s requirements and now enables the company to process 25 tons per hour.

Case Study – Barr Environmental

case-study-barrBarr Environmental is a waste management company providing collection, transport, recycling and disposal services to the public and private sectors in the south-west of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Before teaming up with EMS, all of Barr’s output was heading to landfill. They asked us to deliver a system capable of diverting a large proportion of that to help them lower costs, lower their environmental impact and keep up with their competition.

EMS designed, developed and installed a system that currently diverts 44% of the output previously going to landfill. And with plans to add our bolt-on RDS system, they will soon be diverting over 80% and recovering a great deal of valuable material.

Case Study – O’Brien Waste Recycling Solutions

O-BrienEMS are proud to have contributed to O’Brien Waste Recycling Solutions being one the UK’s fastest-growing waste management, recycling and data destruction (shredding) providers. They were recently listed in the Sunday Times as one of the top 100 performing private companies in the UK and picked up a number of national and international awards.

They came to EMS with the challenge of creating a turnkey system for their existing facility. They needed a tailor-made, ‘wraparound’ system to suit their building and their budget.

EMS delivered a solution, from design to installation, which met all their needs on time and on budget. They now have a comprehensive, efficient system that runs 22-hours per day, diverts 60,000 tons of material per year and boasts a 93% recovery rate of valuable material. Our installation even included external viewing-cabins, where they receive up to 3 visits per-week form potential customers.
